HARROW’S food scene is set to receive a tasty upgrade next month, with the capital’s fastest growing indoor street food restaurant and bar brand, Market Place London, set to open its doors on Easter weekend.
Marking the brand’s first site in the Northwest borough, and located in the newly renovated space at 80-84 St Ann’s Road, Harrow’s exciting new street food market will open its doors on Thursday 6 April.
Standout features of the venue include a vibrant bar, industrial exposed ceilings, as well as green foliage and modern neon signage, to create a cool aesthetic that rivals London’s best restaurant interiors.
The new space has capacity for up to 300 people across both indoor and outdoor areas, with multiple seating zones ideal for families, working individuals and semi-private parties. It will also be family and dog-friendly, and offer juice, coffee and free Wi-Fi to provide locals with a relaxed workspace in the daytime.
Bringing more than 65 jobs to the area, its launch marks a major addition to Harrow’s up-and-coming hospitality scene.
Blake Henderson, managing director of Market Place London, said: “Harrow is a location that has so much untapped potential – especially for independent food vendors. At Market Place, we’re champions of independent business and strive to celebrate those who often don’t have as much of a presence in the food and drink sector.
“For us, it’s about providing incredible chefs and businesses with the opportunity to thrive, by offering fully-fitted units at a fraction of the cost of a standalone shop, on a bustling street with a high footfall. This support for independents is an ethos we’ve taken into all areas of Market Place and as such, we also committed to solely using local suppliers, electricians, plumbers, carpenters in the creation of Market Place Harrow.”
With a focus on an exciting and varied food offering, there will be eight permanent street food traders. These include Borough Market’s renowned Bread Ahead Bakery serving its signature donuts and more; spicy Indo-Chinese brand Pepper Spice; Japanese street food brand Little Tokyo, and milky masala maestros Chaii & Spice. After seeing great success at Market Place Vauxhall, South American meat specialists Argentinian Grill and authentic Turkish brand Farm House Kebabs will also be joining the roster of vendors, ready to serve their grilled meat feasts.
“Across all our Market Place venues, our aim is always to bring brilliant new flavours and foods to the public. We’ve worked hard to secure some fantastic traders who will offer something for all tastes. We’re also looking forward to championing some of our longstanding vendors with us to Harrow, such as the much-loved Argentinian Grill team.
“It’s not just about fantastic food at Market Place too, but our line-up of entertainment and DJs throughout our launch week and beyond is sure to turn heads on Harrow’s high street.
“Market Place Harrow is set to be a brilliant space, and we’re really excited to open our doors and welcome foodies next month.”
Market Place London has experienced a meteoric rise since its inception in 2020, with Market Place Harrow hoping to build on the incredible successes of its three existing venues in Hounslow, Peckham and Vauxhall.
Market Place Harrow will be open from 11.00am-11.30pm, Monday to Sunday from 6 April 2023.
