From Harrow High to Clinic N°44: Two Local Doctors Bring Advanced Aesthetic Medicine Back to Harrow

For Dr Ali Radwan Abas and Dr Ajmal Naqshbandi, opening Clinic N°44 in Harrow feels very much like coming home.

The two doctors first met at Harrow High School when they were just 12 years old. Long before either imagined a career in medicine — let alone that they would one day build a clinic together — their roots were already firmly established in the borough.

Dr Ajmal attended Norbury School, while Dr Ali Radwan attended Elmgrove Primary School, before the pair met at Harrow High and formed a friendship that would continue well into adult life.

Years later, both pursued careers in medicine, completed their postgraduate medical training and became NHS General Practitioners.

Today, they are the founders of Clinic N°44, a premium doctor-led aesthetics and skin clinic based on Greenhill Way in the heart of Harrow.

For the pair, choosing Harrow was about much more than finding a location for a business.

“This is where we grew up, where we went to school and where we first met,” say the doctors. “At 12 years old, we obviously had no idea that we would both become doctors, let alone that one day we would build a clinic together in Harrow. There is something very special about being able to bring what we have learnt back to the community where it all started.”

A different kind of aesthetics clinic for Harrow

Clinic N°44 was created with the aim of offering something increasingly sought after in modern aesthetics: advanced treatments delivered within a medically led environment.

Both founders are GMC-registered doctors and NHS GPs, and the clinic’s approach combines their medical background with advanced aesthetic technology, regenerative medicine and individualised treatment planning.

Their philosophy is deliberately understated: “enhance, never alter”.

Rather than focusing simply on individual treatments, patients are assessed according to their anatomy, skin quality, concerns and longer-term goals. For more complex cases, the clinic also operates a Two-Doctor Principle, allowing cases to be independently reviewed by both founders.

The ambition, they explain, was to bring the type of advanced doctor-led aesthetic treatments that people have traditionally associated with travelling into central London or Harley Street closer to home.

“We felt that patients in Harrow and North West London shouldn’t necessarily have to travel into central London to access premium technology and advanced doctor-led treatments,” they explain.

“We wanted to create that type of environment here — combining medical expertise, carefully selected technologies and a premium patient experience, but doing it in the area that we know and grew up in.”

Bringing advanced laser technology to Harrow

A major focus for Clinic N°44 is advanced laser and energy-based facial rejuvenation.

Among its flagship treatments is Endolift®, a minimally invasive laser procedure used for selected patients concerned about skin laxity, reduced jawline definition, jowling and looseness beneath the chin and neck.

Rather than treating only the surface of the skin, a very fine optical fibre is introduced beneath the skin to deliver controlled laser energy. The aim is to create tissue tightening and stimulate collagen remodelling, with results developing progressively as the tissue responds.

For Dr Ali Radwan and Dr Ajmal, investing in treatments such as Endolift reflects a broader shift in aesthetic medicine.

“Patients are increasingly asking us how they can improve laxity, skin quality and facial structure without necessarily jumping straight to surgery,” they explain. “Our role as doctors is to assess what is actually achievable, discuss the limitations as well as the benefits, and select the right treatment for the right person.”

The clinic has also introduced YouLaser Prime®, an advanced hybrid laser platform combining a fractional CO₂ laser at 10,600 nm with a non-ablative 1550 nm fibre laser.

This allows different approaches to skin resurfacing and rejuvenation, with treatments tailored to concerns including fine lines, skin texture, photoageing, acne scarring and skin quality.

The combination is particularly important because the two laser wavelengths work differently. CO₂ technology can be used for more intensive resurfacing, while the 1550 nm wavelength provides non-ablative treatment at deeper levels of the skin. Depending on the treatment plan, the technologies can be used individually or in combination.

For the founders, bringing this level of technology to Harrow is an important part of what Clinic N°44 represents.

Beyond fillers: the rise of regenerative aesthetics

Another area the doctors are particularly interested in is regenerative aesthetics.

While treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections and hyaluronic acid dermal fillers remain available at the clinic, the range has expanded significantly into treatments designed around collagen stimulation, skin quality and tissue regeneration.

These include polynucleotide treatments such as Plinest®, Profhilo® and other injectable skin boosters, medical microneedling, platelet-rich plasma — or PRP — treatments for the skin and hair, and ASCE+ exosome-based skin treatments.

Clinic N°44 has also introduced newer-generation biostimulatory treatments including NOVUMA®, a calcium hydroxylapatite — or CaHA — treatment, and JULÄINE™, a PLLA collagen biostimulator.

These sit alongside Hydrafacial treatments and personalised Obagi Medical skincare programmes, allowing the doctors to approach concerns from several directions rather than relying on one procedure alone.

The aim, the founders say, is increasingly to look at the face as a whole.

“One person may primarily have skin laxity, another may have volume loss, while someone else may be more concerned about pigmentation, acne scarring or deteriorating skin quality,” they explain.

“Sometimes the right answer is one treatment. Sometimes it is a carefully planned combination over time. And sometimes the right advice is not to treat at all. Being doctors influences how we approach those decisions.”

Medicine first

Despite the premium surroundings and rapidly advancing technology, both doctors say the medical side of Clinic N°44 remains central to its identity.

Consultations focus on medical history, suitability, realistic expectations and the individual patient’s anatomy before a treatment plan is recommended.

All injectable aesthetic procedures at Clinic N°44 are performed by the clinic’s doctors.

It is an approach that reflects their years working within medicine and the NHS, where clinical judgement, patient selection and knowing when not to intervene are just as important as carrying out a procedure.

That medical background is also increasingly influencing the direction in which Clinic N°44 is developing.

Recognition in its first year

The clinic’s development has already attracted recognition beyond Harrow.

Clinic N°44 was named among the winners of the SME News Greater London Enterprise Awards 2026 — an early milestone for a business that remains closely connected to the borough where its two founders grew up.

But Dr Ali Radwan and Dr Ajmal say they are still very much at the beginning of what they want to build.

For them, success is not simply about adding more treatments. Their longer-term ambition is to create a destination in Harrow for high-quality, doctor-led aesthetics, skin health and medical care, while continuing to invest in technology and treatments that previously may have required patients to travel further into London.

Coming back to where it started

There is something fitting about the story coming full circle.

Two boys meet at Harrow High School at 12 years old.

They grow up, study medicine, become doctors and NHS GPs, and years later find themselves working side by side again — this time treating patients in a clinic only a short distance from the schools and streets they knew growing up.

“We are proud of where we came from,” they say. “Harrow has always been home for us. Building Clinic N°44 here means that as the clinic grows, we are also investing back into the area that shaped both of us.”

And while Clinic N°44 has ambitions to continue developing, its founders are clear that Harrow will remain an important part of its identity.

Clinic N°44 is located at 50 Greenhill Way, Harrow, HA1 1JP.
