A man from Harrow has been charged after a loaded firearm was recovered by officers from the Met’s Violent Crime Taskforce in Rayners Lane last night (20 August).
Abdulahi Yusuf, 21, from Harrow was charged on Friday, 21 August with:
– possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life
– possession of ammunition without a certificate
– possession of a prohibited weapon.
He will appear in custody via video link at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 22 August.
Three other men of the same age who were arrested have been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in mid-September.
The police arrested the four men last night at around 9:30pm. Images and footage sent to Harrow Online show a temporary cordon in place outside shops on Rayners Lane. People reported hearing sirens and seeing police rushing to the scene.
The police discovered the loaded firearm after it was dropped on the ground in a bag.
